The story goes that in the early 1800's a couple was walking across the bridge as horses approached. More recently, i watched as a couple took photos while in the roadway and then they started walking across the bridge......
nearby the standpipe; what you seek is NOT ON the covered part of the bridge or in the path of traffic. bring a thin cylindrical tool like a pencil and look under the sandwiched metal.

I was just wondering if you have checked to see if this was still there or not? I’m on vacation and I absolutely love this bridge. I took a ride over today but I’m not sure if I was looking in the right spots or if it was gone |
